Nunley Custom Homes: Types Of Homes We Build
Greenville County and the broader Upstate South Carolina region boast a diverse array of architectural styles and home types that cater to its unique culture, history, and environment. Here's a detailed list of some of the most common types of new home builds in the area:
Traditional Southern Homes: Often characterized by spacious front porches, symmetrical facades, and steep roofs. These homes may include elements reminiscent of Colonial, Georgian, or Federal styles, all with a Southern touch.
Craftsman Bungalows: Recognized by their overhanging eaves, exposed rafters, and decorative brackets. Craftsman homes in the area often feature a mix of wood and stone, making them both rustic and sophisticated.
Ranch-style Homes: Single-story layouts with open floor plans. These homes became popular post-WWII and are known for their long, low, ground-hugging profile.
Cape Cod Homes: Inspired by early colonial homes, these are simple one or one-and-a-half-story homes with steep rooflines, multi-pane windows, and dormers.
Modern Farmhouses: A blend of classic comfort with modern flair. They boast of spacious porches, gabled roofs, and clean lines, often using materials like reclaimed wood for a rustic yet contemporary feel.
European-inspired Estates: Taking cues from French, English, or Mediterranean architecture, these homes might have stucco walls, red-tiled roofs, and ornate details.
Mountain Retreats: Ideal for the foothills and mountainous regions of Upstate South Carolina. These homes combine rustic elements like wood and stone with large windows to take in the natural surroundings.
Contemporary Modern Homes: Defined by simple lines, large windows, and open spaces. They often incorporate sustainable materials and innovative designs to create a sleek and functional space.
Colonial Revivals: Heavily influenced by early American colonial architecture, these homes emphasize symmetry and may feature brick facades, gabled roofs, and elegant entryways.
Cottages and Cabins: Smaller, cozier homes that blend seamlessly with the natural landscapes of Upstate SC. They often use local materials and have a quaint, rustic charm.
What Our Clients Say...
Nunley Custom Homes Would Be An Excellent Choice.
Joe Nunley has a wealth of construction and design experience and we have personally seen many of his remodels and custom builds over the years, including with our own home. He is 100% committed to doing a quality job and refuses to take any shortcuts. If you are looking for someone to do a quick and dirty “lipstick on a pig” job for a quick property sale or house flip, Joe may NOT be your guy. But if you are looking for a quality upgrade to your own home—something you can be proud to show off to your friends and neighbors—Nunley Custom Homes would be an excellent choice. Joe communicates well with his clients and will offer many interesting design ideas and material recommendations. And he will not consider a job complete until it meets, not only the proper building codes, but also his personal standard of excellence!!
We Hit The Jackpot When We Found Joe Nunley And His Crew!
We hit the jackpot when we found Joe Nunley and his crew! Our goal: to renovate a 1956 brick ranch family house while maintaining the character of the original home. The finished product exceeded our imagination and expectations! On the front end, Joe listened carefully to our vision. Throughout the project, he communicated clearly and timely, followed the provided timeline, maintained a safe, clean, and orderly work environment, and offered design options to meet our desires and budget. Joe and his team were dedicated to providing excellent work with attention to detail and precision. Phase 1 (entire home renovation) went so well, we will soon begin Phase 2 (covered outdoor living space and kitchen) and we are thrilled to be able to work with Joe and his team again.
